Scalp Eczema !
As the title itself suggests, scalp eczema occurs on scalp.
The type of skin scalp possesses is quite different from the skin present elsewhere on the body. Scalp not only carries follicles that produce long terminal hairs but also has a very rich supply of grease from the oil glands. Further, scalp is more exposed to heat, cold, and direct sunlight than the rest of the skin. Of course, problems faced by the skin elsewhere can be faced by scalp as well. However, there are problems which affect only the scalp area. Since the scalp gets infected, the hairs also get infected in the form of hair loss.
The most common problem of scalp eczema is known as seborrhoeic eczema. Scaling, reddening of the scalp and irritation are accompanied by it. Greasy scalp is also associated with it sometimes.
