Nummular Eczema Treatment !
Nummular eczema or nummular dermatitis is an allergy-related skin chaos. It causes characteristic itchy, coin shaped lesions.
Causes of Nummular Eczema:
What causes nummular eczema is not known. However, people with a personal or family history of atopic dermatitis, asthma, allergies, or similar anarchies are usually seen to get nummular eczema. As compared to other skin disorders, it is an uncommon problem and more frequently suffered by elderly men.
Nummular Eczema Symptoms:
- Skin redness or inflammation
- As with all types of eczema, itching is suffered in nummular eczema as well.
- Skin wounds that may look like or may be macules, papules, vesicles, or patches
- Spreading to the trunk
- Primarily located on the arms and legs
- Nummular (coin shaped)
- Oozing, crusting over
- Scaly or excoriated (raw) skin
Diagnosis of Nummular Eczema:
Physicians diagnose nummular eczema by reviewing family and personal history and appearance of the skin.
Nummular eczema is diagnosed based on the appearance of the skin, and on personal and family history. Other conditions with a similar appearance may be excluded by a skin biopsy.
Nummular Eczema Treatments:
Nummular Eczema can be hard to diagnose due to its similar appearance to other types of skin disorders. Therefore, a qualified physician should be consulted for the purpose.
Nummular eczema treatment is performed by:
- Focusing on relief of the symptoms
- Avoiding factors that alleviate the symptoms
- Not bathing frequently
- Avoiding other possible allergens, including environment and foods
- Topically treating the skin with soothing lotions, soaps, or wet dressing
- Using creams or ointments that contain corticosteroids, or lubricating, or other ingredients on the chronic areas of the skin
