Eczema During Pregnancy !

Due to an impact on hormones in pregnancy, knock-on effects can be tolerated by the skin. Eczema commonly behaves dissimilar to women particularly during their pregnancy.

In some pregnancy cases with eczema, eczemas flare up and going of the eczemas into remission is witnessed in other cases. What is the cause for it is not entirely known, but it is advised to women to have regular medical check-ups during pregnancy.

Caring for the skin affected with eczema on daily basis is vital. If the eczema in pregnancy can be treated with coal tar paste bandages (ichthammol) and emollients it would be far better. The second option is topical steroids, which are believed to be safe in pregnancy. But they must be used under tight medical guidance and must be used in small quantities.

To remove eczema during pregnancy, Phenergan is usually prescribed by physicians. If you are planning to take herbal or Chinese medicine, you should first consult your doctor as although a non-prescription remedies, they still need to be reviewed for use in such a delicate situation.

Dangers of Alcohol during Pregnancy:

A research conducted by Danish researchers showed that women who use alcohol during their pregnancies colossally raise the risk of forming eczema in their child within the first two months after his/her birth. According to the medical records in the Danish National Birth Cohort, researchers in 1955 interviewed thousands of mothers after their children were eighteen months old. They found 24,231 mothers who drunken alcohol while they were pregnant and had their babies affected with eczema. It was revealed that women who had four or more drinks a single week during pregnancy were faced with a four times bigger possibility of eczema in their babies. However, only those parents who had a high risk of allergy in themselves had their babies at this increased risk.
